Tales of Robin Hood

Sherwood Forest
Sherwood Forest covers a third of Nottinghamshire with it's heritage. You can visit the Major Oak, who's hollow trunk, which according to local lore, was used as a hideout by Robin Hood and his men. This tree was voted in 2002 as 'Britain's Favourite Tree'

This historic site in the heart of the City's Lace Market was in use as courts and prisons from the 1780's to the 1980s, although there has been a a court on the site since at least 1375 and a prison since 1449.
Join the atmospheric tour through 3 centeries of crime & punishment. Prisoners and Gaolers will act as your guides as you too become part of the dramatic history. Witness a real trial in the original Victorian courtroom before seeing the HM Prison Sevice collection on display in the 1833 wing.
